Ссылаясь на Home Cinema Choice, он заявил: «Поскольку ситуация, складывающаяся вокруг форматов Blu-ray и HD-DVD не совсем ясна, компания Onkyo решила отказаться от дальнейших поставок HD-DVD проигрывателей DV-HD805 в Великобританию». <br />Кроме того он добавил, что бессмысленно вкладывать значительные средства в развитие HD DVD, если формат Blu-ray станет более распространенным, а вместе с ним и Blu-ray плееры -  именно эта  тенденция сейчас наблюдается на рынке. <br />Неясно, как это решение может повлиять на ситуацию в США. Однако ряды сторонников HD DVD редеют, и с этим фактом трудно поспорить.
