Аналитическая компания DisplaySearch выпустила отчет о состоянии рынка оптических носителей нового поколения в 2007 году. Кротко говоря, Северная Америка уже приняла новую технологию; среди поставщиков стационарных проигрывателей с огромным отрывом лидирует Toshiba.<br /><br />В то же время, основу пользовательского парка устройств, поддерживающих новые носители, составляют игровые консоли. Накопительный подсчет данных за первые три квартала года приводит к результату 85% — такова доля этого вида продукции в общем объеме оборудования, позволяющего воспроизводить диски Blu-ray и HD DVD.<br /><br />Наиболее заметно проникновение новой технологии на рынке США и Канады — на долю североамериканского континента в третьем квартале 2007 года приходилось более 80% от общемирового объема поставок.<br /><br />Показательно, что в этот период в сегменте стационарных проигрывателей с колоссальным отрывом лидировала компания Toshiba, возглавляющая стан сторонников HD DVD. Одна только эта компания в первые три квартала 2007 года поставила по всему миру на 64% больше устройств, чем все производители Blu-ray, вместе взятые.<br /><br />Что касается рынка оборудования Blu-ray, он, по сути, представляет собой рынок одного устройства — игровой консоли Sony PlayStation 3. Эти консоли составили 97% общемировых поставок оборудования Blu-ray в указный выше период.<br /><br />Другим словами, как бы ни хотелось сторонникам Blu-ray поскорее объявить о победе в войне оптических форматов, подсчеты аналитиков отрезвляют. По сути дела, все преимущество Blu-ray сосредоточено в нише игровых консолей. Покупатели стационарных проигрывателей во всем мире отдавали предпочтение продукции Toshiba. Впрочем, в современном мире реальное положение дел часто не играет такой роли, как тщательно спланированное рекламное давление — чтобы победить на рынке, нужно сначала победить в сознании покупателей, а для этого не обязательно предлагать более совершенный продукт или продавать больше устройств по доступной цене. Можно просто трубить о своей победе на каждом углу, пока потребители не поверят, что это именно так.
