В настоящий момент мы наблюдаем превращение сервиса BD-Live из поддержки стандарта Blu-Ray в социальную сеть, кинокомпания 21th Century Fox выступила с заявление на CES: "The Future is Blu, the Future is BD-Live" (по-русски это звучит, как: "Светлое будущее за BD-Live").Принимая участие в интерактивной Blu-Ray конференции от Sony компания Fox презентовала свои планы по выпуску дисков Blu-Ray в этом году, намекая на то, что они, как собственники распространенной на Западе социальной сети MySpace, будут развивать сетевые возможности стандарта. Вице-президент компании Денни Кей (Danny Kaye), демонстрируя различные BD-Live сервисы, показал, как с помощью них члены MySpace могут собирать и накапливать информацию в режиме онлайн. Также Денни Кей показал, как пользователи могут скачать картинку с сайта, например MySpace.com, и разместить её на Blu-Ray диске. На презентации так же была показана новая сетевая игра "Alien vs. Predator vs. You", по мотивам недавно вышедшего фильма "Чужой против Хищника: Реквием" и предваряющая его релиз на Blu-Ray (дата выхода в России уточняется).
"В общем идея такова, что бы превратить 2 часа фильма в 10 или больше часов веселья!", - заявил Денни Кей.
