Обе камеры оснащены системой трёх матриц 3ССD, позволяющей записывать видео с разрешением 1920 х 1080 в формате AVCHD. Модель SD9, которая несколько уменьшилась в размерах, по сравнению со своей предшественницей SD5, записывает информацию на карты форматов  SD или SD HC, в то время как HS9 может вести запись как на карты SD и SD HC так и на встроенный жесткий диск размером 60 Gb. В комплекте камеры  HS9 идет флеш-карта SD HC на 16 Gb, позволяющая записать до 29 часов  полноценного HD-видео.  В обеих камерах есть функция распознавания лица Face Detection, применяемая для автоматической регулировки  экспозиции  и контрастного отображения цвета кожи, а так же технология Panny's Intelligent Shooting Guide, которая выводит на LCD-экран советы, позволяющие пользователю быстро настроить режим съемки.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1200047636_panasonichdchs9.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Новинки от Panasonic: 2 компактных камкодера HDC-SD9 и HDC-HS9' /></div><br />  На обеих камерах есть HDMI разъемы, поддержка 5-ти канального звука(запись ведется с помощью 5-ти встроенных микрофонов), а так же сверхскоростной съемки со скоростью 24 fps и разрешением 2.1 Mпиксель.<br /><br />  В рознице обе камеры появятся не ранее марта. Примерная цена на SD9 будет составлять $800, на HS9 - $1100. <br />
