Об израильской компании Mempile, разрабатывающей оптический носитель TeraDisc, способный вмещать до 1 ТБ данных мы уже писали.<br /><br />Сейчас прогресс достиг той стадии, когда разработчикам уже есть, что показать — демонстрацию технологии запланировано провести на выставке CES 2008, которая пройдет в начале января в Лас-Вегасе.<br /><br />По информации источника, в отличие Blu-ray и HD DVD, технология TeraDisc использует мощный красный лазер, способный считывать информацию с каждого из слоев, вмещающих по ГБ.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1198768712_mempile20disc20drive20photo20v2.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Mempile покажет свой 500-ГБ TeraDisc уже на днях' title='Mempile покажет свой 500-ГБ TeraDisc уже на днях' /></div><br />На CES будет показан 0,6-мм носитель, состоящий из 100 слоев суммарным объёмом в 500 ГБ.<br /><br />К сожалению, сроки коммерциализации технологии сдвинуты разработчиками на 2011 год (ранее говорилось о выпуске первых продуктов на рынок уже в 2008-м). По словам Mempile, первые приводы будут стоить от трёх до четырёх тысяч долларов, а первые носители объёмом 700 ГБ — около 30 долларов. Пока что цена последних выглядит привлекательно всего вдвое выше, чем у носителей Blu-ray и HD DVD, но индустрия не стоит на месте и вполне возможно, что к тому моменту, когда TeraDisc выйдет на рынок, там уже будут достойные конкуренты. Напомним, что голографические диски объёмом 100 и 200 ГБ уже стандартизированы…
