В недрах корпорации Microsoft создано нове подразделение Connected TV, основная задача которого заключается разработке и продвижении различных телевизионных и вещательных технологий в глобальной сети. Известно, что Connected TV будет оптимизировать для глобальной сети предыдущие разработки - MediaCenter, IPTV, HD DVD и другие.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1198532243_microsoftlogo.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Microsoft будет заниматься интернет-телевидением.' /></div><br />Формально подразделение является одной из структур отдела Microsoft Entertainment and Devices division, где корпорация также работает над своими аппаратными новинками, в том числе и консолью Xbox, а также над игровым софтом.<br /><br />Напомним, что впервые о новом подразделении было объявлено в октябре этого года, когда в Microsoft сообщили о том, что планируют сделать телевизионные технологии более приближенными к интернету.<br /><br />В ближайшей перспективе Conntected TV поставит программное обеспечение для ряда производителей ТВ-приставок, аналогичных AppleTV, а также представит новый софт для платформы Microsoft Mediaroom.
