Sony обещает Blu-ray Profile 1.1 для PS3 к Рождеству

Компания Sony сообщила о появлении очередного обновления для PlayStation3, которое можно будет скачать перед Рождеством, и которое будет поддерживать параметры Profile 1.1, совместимые с Blu-ray дисками. Следует заметить, что формат HD DVD поддерживает такие возможности параметров Profile 1.1, как 'картинка в картинке’, второстепенное воспроизведение звука, локальное запоминающее устройство с момента появления новых параметров, в то время как в спецификациях Blu-ray эти возможности были необязательными. На данный момент на рынке нет ни одного Blu-ray диска с поддержкой Profeile 1.1, а плееры, совместимые с параметрами 1.1, представлены лишь одним устройством от Panasonic. Единственная важная дополнительная возможность в формате HD DVD, которая потребуется при использовании Profile 2.0, это подключение к интернету, так что возможность скачивания контента, будет все еще отсутствовать у некоторых BD плееров с параметрами 1.1. Правда это все мало касается PS3, которая имеет встроенный Ethernet разъем на своем борту. Так что, рассматривая возможности консоли, можно смело утверждать, что PS3 все еще остается самым дешевым и широко используемым Blu-ray плеером, а Sony продолжает работать над улучшением платформы по средствам своих обновлений.
