Компания Samsung Electronics объявила о завершении разработки интегральной схемы-решения (DDI) для дисплеев мобильных устройств на базе технологии AMOLED (active matrix OLED). По словам Джин Тае Кима, вице-президента Samsung Electronics Systems LSI, рынок устройств с AMOLED-дисплеями стабильно развивается, и в ближайшее время эта технология станет доминировать в мобильных устройствах, так как эти дисплеи могут обеспечить более высокое качество изображения. Новый чип DDI от Samsung способен отображать 16 миллионов оттенков.  Для мобильных устройств это очень высокий показатель. Для сравнения, большинство дисплеев на существующих мобильных устройствах могут отображать не более 262 тысяч оттенков цветов. Компания уже приступила к серийному производству новых чипов DDI. Они будут широко использоваться в AMOLED -панелях, выпускаемых Samsung SDI.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1195913090_samsung.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Чип с поддержкой 16 млн. цветов для OLED-дисплеев' title='Чип с поддержкой 16 млн. цветов для OLED-дисплеев' /></div><br />По данным Display Research, общий объём AMOLED панелей достигнет 127,11 миллионов единиц к 2011.
