Продолжительное время голографическая запись считается одним из самых перспективных технологий будущего – ее главный плюс заключается в очень большой емкости записи. При этом разработкой данного формата занимаются два лагеря. Первый, японский HVD Forum, предлагает на 12-см оптические диски записанные коллинеарным методом – опорный и рабочий лучи проецируются через общую оптическую головку. Второй лагерь возглавляет американская компания InPhase Technologies. Суть ее метода заключается в разделении системы проецирования и записывает данные на 13-см диски.<br /><br />И вот совсем недавно к разработкам голографической технологии официально присоединилась компания Sony. Это выглядит довольно странно, так как до этого она неоднократно заявляла, что видит будущее только в стандарте Blu-ray, который активно продвигает на рынок и участвует в войне с другим стандартом – HD DVD. Впрочем, несмотря на это Sony есть что продемонстрировать в новом для нее направлении.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1194779945_102624.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Голографическая технология записи: Sony начинает работу на два фронта' /></div><br /><br />В своем приводе Sony использует один стандартный сине-фиолетовый лазер, что отличат ее разработку от технологий других компаний. Впрочем сам лазер с разной длиной волны – как это сделано в приводах HVD и InPhase, но отличается сам принцип записи. Луч расщепляется и с помощью зеркал формируется два встречных луча, а запись осуществляется в точке общей фокусировки обоих лучей. Самые главные плюсы данного метода заключаются в простоте реализации и схожести управляющей и сигнальной электроники применяемой в обычных Blu-ray-приводах, что облегчает производство массовых продуктов.<br /><br />На данный момент Sony имеет прототип голографического диска, который состоит из семи информационных слоев на каждый из которых можно записать до 3 ГБ информации со скоростью передачи данных 3 Мбит/с. При этом компания утверждает, что к 2010 году выпустить 20-слойный диск общим объемом 500 ГБ (2.5 ГБ на слой).
