Московский оператор платного телевидения «Космос-ТВ» 6 сентября 2007 года официально объявил о своих ближайших планах увеличения количества транслируемых каналов за счет появления нового пакета в формате телевидения высокой четкости (HDTV). Также пресс-службой компании сообщалось об успешном завершении в техническом центре «Космос-ТВ» тестирования оборудования, необходимого для приема, передачи, кодирования и декодирования телевизионного сигнала в формате HDTV.<br /><br />В недостоверной информации, опубликованной ComNews.ru говорится о «фальстарте» коммерческого запуска услуги по предоставлению абонентам «Космос-ТВ» канала в формате высокой четкости (VOOM HD). Сам «фальстарт» связывается с неудовлетворительной работой абонентского приемного оборудования, производимого компанией Homecast.<br /><br />Пресс-служба «Космос-ТВ» заявила, что в настоящее время абонентам компании-оператора услуга «HDTV» не предоставляется. Возможность подписаться на HD-канал напрямую связана со сроками поставки партии успешно оттестированных декодеров HC5101 IR компании Homecast, предназначенных для потенциальных абонентов.
