Компания Panasonic, бренд Matsushita Electric Industrial, приступила к пробным поставкам больших интегральных схем нового поколения UniPhier (MN2WS0038), предназначенных для сжатия и декомпрессии аудиовидеосигнала высокой четкости.<br /><br />Благодаря использованию современного кодека MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) процессоры UniPhier позволяют сжимать аудиовидеоданные сильнее, чем прежде, позволяя вместить на те же носители больший объем информации. По данным компании, картинка с разрешением 1080p сжимается на 50-75% лучше, чем это позволяли сделать предыдущие технологии.<br /><br />Для изготовления чипов UniPhier использовался новый 45-нм техпроцесс, к которому компания перешла в июне текущего года.
