С целью повышения интерактивных возможностей давние партнеры Toshiba и Microsoft решили организовать ассоциацию интерактивного продвижения (Advanced Interactivity Consortium). Идея этого 'открытого форума' в переносе возможностей интерактивности, появившихся в фильмах в формате HD DVD, на другие платформы и, в перспективе, использование HDi возможностей в различных сервисах, доступных на PC, PMP, консолях или HD телевизорах. Киностудии, поддерживающие формат HD DVD (Dreamworks, Paramount, Universal and Warner Bros.), в ближайшее время тоже должны войти в данный консорциум. Как видно из работы данной команды, вероятно, формат HD DVD это только одна часть на пути плана компаний по созданию цифрового медиа рынка.
