Компания Toshiba, разработчик и основная движущая сила формата HD-DVD, похоже, работает над новым флагманом своей линейки – DVD / HD DVD рекордером (с жестким диском), предположительно под названием RD-RX7, который также способен записывать HD видео на простой DVD формат. Видимо, Toshiba сможет уместить около 2 часов HD видео на старом формате DVD с технологией ' HD Rec ', что по сравнению с 6-ю часами на HD-DVD, выглядит неплохо. Возникает даже вопрос, а зачем мы все стремимся к переходу на HD-DVD формат? К тому же устройство поддерживает HDMI интерфейс с возможностью передачи сигнала 1080p/24.
