На днях стали доступны первые нормальные фото проводного кабеля стандарта USB 3.0, оптическая версия которого, со слов CEO Intel, Пола Отелини (Paul Otelini), готовится к выходу в 2008 году. Стандарт первоначально планируется выпустить в применении к высокоуровневым системам, таким, как переносные накопители и прочие устройства, нуждающиеся в «передовых» скоростях; для принтеров, мышек и USB-вентиляторов новый стандарт едва ли станет шагом в новое измерение.
