Представители Intel сообщили об образовании группы, главной целью которой станет разработка нового высокоскоростного стандарта передачи данных USB 3.0. Первыми членами альянса, помимо самой Intel, стали компании HP, Microsoft, NEC, NXP Semiconductors и Texas Instruments, сообщает TG Daily.<br /><br />Самым важным изменением станет скорость передачи данных интерфейса: USB 3.0 будет работать со скоростью 5 Гбит/c, что примерно в 10 раз быстрее USB 2.0, скорость которого ограничивается 480 Мбит/с. Об этом сообщил вице-президент Intel Digital Enterprise Group Пэт Гелсингер (Pat Gelsinger). Для реализации такой скорости кабель USB 3.0 в настоящий момент выполняется из оптоволокна, отмечает издание The Inquirer. Новая версия интерфейса, как и предыдущие, будет рассчитана не только на компьютеры, но и на потребительскую электронику и мобильные устройства, и найдет широкое применение в первую очередь там, где требуется перекачка больших по размеру файлов, объем которых достигает 25 ГБ.<br /><br />По словам г-на Гелсингера, USB 3.0 базируется на существующей технологии USB, при этом порты нового стандарта будут обратно совместимы. То есть USB 2.0-устройства будут подходить к портам новой версии. Помимо значительного увеличения скорости передачи данных, в новом стандарте будет повышена эффективность протокола передачи данных, а энергопотребление - снижено.<br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1190292148_usb.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='USB 3.0: скорость вырастет в 10 раз' /></div><br /><br />Среди всех существующих интерфейсов конкурировать с USB 3.0 сможет разве что eSATA, появившийся еще несколько лет назад и предлагающий скорость 3 Гбит/с для связи с внешними устройствами. С недавних пор выпуском материнских плат и адаптеров с поддержкой этого интерфейса занимается ряд производителей.
