Решение поддерживает такие продвинутые спецификации, как WQXGA (Wide Quad eXtended Graphics Array, обеспечивает разрешение 2560 х 1600), и новейшую на сегодняшний день версию предназначенного для защиты авторских прав протокола HDCP 1.3 (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Кроме того, соблюдена обратная совместимость с DVI/HDMI. Стандарт DisplayPort задуман как масштабируемый интерфейс, который в перспективе позволит добиться унификации в этом сегменте решений.
