Компания Hitachi анонсировала первую, по её словам, цифровую видеокамеру в мире, способную производить запись на 8-сантиметровые оптические носители формата BD-RE/R.

По словам разработчиков, на один такой диск помещается примерно 7 Гбайт отснятого материала в формате MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, что в пять раз больше, чем может уместиться на диски DVD-RAM/RW/R аналогичного диаметра (кстати, их новинка от Hitachi тоже поддерживает). К тому же, будучи оснащённым 5,3-мегапиксельным CMOS-сенсором, этот камкордер может делать ещё и статичные снимки с разрешением 1920 x 1080 пикселей.

Увы, какой-либо информации об индексе модели, а также сроках появления аппарата в продаже и, уж тем более, его вероятной розничной стоимости, пока не приводится.
