Следуя заразительному примеру Panasonic, компания TDK тоже анонсировала скорое появление в продаже новых оптических носителей формата BD-R, на которые запись информации может осуществляться со скоростью до 4х.

Новинки предлагаются в однослойных 25-гигабайтных и двухслойных 50-гигабайтных версиях, что позволит пользователям полностью заполнить носитель важными данными за 22 и 45 минут соответственно.

Согласно имеющейся информации, в продаже новые однослойные «болванки» появятся уже этим летом по цене $20, в то время как стоимость их двухслойных «собратьев» пока остаётся неизвестной.
