Похоже, что война стандартов под названием «Blu-Ray против HD DVD» не прекращается ни на минуту, а только разгорается с ещё большей силой. И если ситуация на североамериканском рынке в целом складывается в пользу BD-носителей, то вот продажи видеоплееров HD DVD в Старом Свете значительно превышают соответствующий показатель для устройств Blu-Ray.

Согласно данным, поступившим от продвигающей технологию HD DVD группы European HD DVD Promotional Group, в Англии, Германии, Франции, Италии, Испании и Швейцарии около 74% проданных плееров были именно HD DVD-аппараты. При этом на технологию Blu-Ray приходятся оставшиеся 26%.

Главной причиной столь серьёзного рыночного отставания BD-плееров является ценовая политика производителей конечных устройств. Так, на американском рынке модель плеера Sony BDP-S300 продаётся по цене $500, тогда как установленная европейская цена составляет значительно более солидные 900 евро. При этом конкурент в лице HD-E1 от Toshiba может похвастаться стоимостью в 400 евро.

Тем не менее, на данный момент не сообщается, какое количество плееров нового поколения продано в Америке, а это значит, что ситуация, вцелом складывающаяся на мировом видеорынке, пока остаётся неясной.

Toshiba готова завоевать китайский рынок HD DVD



Согласно данным официальных источников, в преддверии грядущих Олимпийских Игр 2008 в Пекине менеджеры компании Toshiba планируют развернуть в следующем году широкую маркетинговую кампанию по продвижению стандарта HD DVD в Китае в виду потенциального роста спроса на продукцию данной категории в данном регионе.

Компании, предоставляющие услуги телевещания на территории страны, ожидают, что в Китае в этом году будет продано более 8 миллионов ЖК-телевизоров, а через год поставки увеличатся до 10 миллионов устройств. Несложно догадаться, что рост популярности ТВ с большими диагоналями стимулирует спрос на фильмы и медиа высокого качества, которые на сегодня могут быть представлены только форматами HD DVD и/или Blu-ray Disc (BD). Ожидается, что Toshiba начнет завоевывать рынок Китая серией недорогих, но качественных HD DVD-плееров, технические особенности которых пока не разглашаются.

Напомню, что еще в далеком 2006 году Toshiba начала внедрение HD DVD-продукции для китайского рынка. Менеджеры компании уверены, что при необходимости минимизации издержек, Toshiba будет сотрудничать с местными разработчиками электроники для чтения/записи оптических дисков.
