Ожидается, что публикация разработанных документов, равно как и обновленный список компаний, входящих сейчас в группу, будет опубликован в течение следующих 60 дней. Эта информация поступила от начинающей компании SiBeam, созданной с целью производства CMOS-чипов под новую технологию.<br /><br />SiBeam провела демонстрацию работающего прототипа, передававшего видеопоток формата высокого разрешения 1080p на расстояние около 10 метров. Опытный образец был построен на базе программируемой логической матрицы (FPGA), но теперь, после выхода спецификации, вскоре должен быть выпущен чип соответствующего специализированного контроллера (ASIC). Принцип организации, описываемый в новом стандарте, предусматривает параллельное использование двух типов беспроводных соединений – в первом случае это высокоскоростные направленные соединения, с пропускной способностью в несколько Гбит/с, достаточной для передачи некомпрессированного видео высокого разрешения. Второй тип соединений, с круговой диаграммой направленности и пропускной способностью в несколько десятков Мбит/с, предназначен для обнаружения в радиусе действия совместимых устройств и установления связи с ними. В обоих случаях предусмотрена работа в диапазоне 60 ГГц.<br /><br />Другие участники группы WirelessHD, такие как Pulse Link, Tzero и Alereon, планируют представить собственные решения, предназначенные для работы в 60 ГГц беспроводных домашних сетях. Что касается продуктов OmniLink60 от самой SiBeam, то их анонс ожидается либо во время январской выставки CES в следующем году, либо до начала этого мероприятия.
