Как сообщает источник, Samsung Electronics на днях анонсировала на Тайване 16 новых моделей ЖК-дисплеев, минимальный размер диагонали которых составил 19 дюймов, а максимальный – 57! По словам местных представителей компании, эти мониторы появятся в продаже во второй половине этого года.

57-дюймовые ЖК-дисплеи предназначены преимущественно для рынка медицинского оборудования, хотя, конечно, состоятельные компьютерные энтузиасты могут купить их и для использования в качестве монитора своего персонального компьютера. В ассортименте компании уже имеются ЖК-дисплеи с размерами диагоналей 32, 40 и 52 дюйма, предназначенные для установки в общественных местах. И хотя объем поставок таких крупноразмерных дисплеев невелик, они, тем не менее, вносят ощутимый вклад в выручку тайваньского отделения Samsung. Стоит также отметить, что 57-дюймовый ЖК-дисплей будет доступен только в «мониторном» варианте и не будет представлен на рынке телевизионных приемников, в связи с использованием иной технологии панели.

По данным газеты Commercial Times, уже в этом году Samsung планирует полностью отказаться от производства ЖК-дисплеев формата 4:3 и сконцентрироваться на производстве 22-дюймовых широкоформатных дисплеев.

Стоит также отметить, что цены на мониторы Samsung будут расти (и вполне вероятно, эта тенденция коснется не только Тайваня) в связи с ростом средневзвешенной цены ЖК-панелей.
