Корпорация Toshiba снизила прогнозируемые объёмы продаж своих HD DVD плееров на текущий год. Причиной такого решения стали неудовлетворительные показатели компании на американском рынке. И это несмотря на тот факт, что её новый проигрыватель HD-A20 предлагается по цене $399, а в рамках специальной акции, проводившейся до 16 июня, его можно было приобрести на $100 дешевле, да ещё и получить в придачу пять бесплатных дисков.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1182168310_125611.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Toshiba недовольна продажами своих HD DVD плееров' /></div><br />Как раз результаты этой акции и «расстроили» руководство Toshiba. Несмотря на то, что по состоянию на данный момент компания продала около 150 тысяч плееров (а это составило почти 60% американского рынка проигрывателей HD-формата), её маркетологи посчитали данный показатель недостаточным. В итоге, из ранее заявленных на этот год 1,8 миллионов плееров Toshiba надеется реализовать в США лишь один миллион. Вполне вероятно, что следом за американским рынком пересмотру подвергнутся и общемировые прогнозы продаж устройств HD DVD этой компании.
