Крупнейшая прокатная компания Blockbuster заявила, что отныне больше не намерена предлагать своим клиентам видео на дисках HD DVD. В настоящий момент в расположении Blockbuster находится 1450 пунктов проката, из которых в 250 пунктах можно найти как HD DVD, так и Blu-ray, но со следующего месяца завоз новинок на HD DVD компания намерена прекратить, сообщает AP.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1182173937_blockbuster_logo.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Пополнение в рядах Blu-ray: HD DVD придется несладко' /></div><br /> С конца прошлого года компания решила провести эксперимент. В 250 пунктах проката были предложены фильмы на обоих носителях. Тем не менее большинство посетителей выбирали именно Blu-ray, их оказалось 70%. Интересно отметить, что среди клиентов Blockbuster нашлось мало тех, для кого бы не имело значение, что смотреть, лишь бы дешевле. А так как стоимость диска не имела значения, не удивительно, что большую популярность завоевал именно Blu-ray, ведь именно на этом формате выходит большее число кассовых фильмов.<br /><br />По словам вице-президента Blockbuster Мэттью Смита (Matthew Smith), на решение отказаться от HD DVD повлиял именно выбор клиентов.
