Первая половина июня отличилась не только хорошей погодой, но и яркими событиями в IT-индустрии. Начало лета принесло коллекцию хороших вестей и в сфере графических карт. Причём, вовсе необязательно прибегать к упоминанию множества новинок, приехавших на тайваньскую выставку Computex 2007. Например, экономным геймерам с интересом узнали о готовящемся запуске DX10-совместимого продукта GeForce 8400 GS стоимостью около $45. Сторонников продукции AMD вдохновила новость о подготовке нового семейства графических чипов в составе R680, RV660/670/635/620 и планах по тотальному переходу на 55-нм техпроцесс в конце текущего года.<br /><br />В июньскую новостную копилку поступило ещё несколько известий на тему продукции AMD, в частности, представителей серии Radeon HD 2000. Ряд сайтов высказались в пользу слухов о начале поставок в этом месяце флагманской видеокарты AMD Radeon HD 2900 XT 1024 Мб GDDR4. Вместе с тем, называется точная дата - 14 июня. Судя по всему, поводом для такого утверждения стала утечка датированного этим числом пресс-релиза от компании Diamond Multimedia, имеющей богатый опыт в производстве графических карт. Партнёр AMD намеревается в ближайший четверг анонсировать видеокарту Diamond Radeon HD 2900 XT с 1 Гб памяти GDDR4. В тот же день начнутся продажи новинки ведущим производителям ПК. Поскольку GDDR4-версия не должна поступить в широкую розничную продажу, она станет привилегией исключительно покупателей готовых систем.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1181669600_50986.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Radeon HD2900XT c GDDR4 - 14 июня, HD2600/2400 - на подходе' /></div><br />Бытует мнение, что превосходство Radeon HD 2900 XT 1024 Мб GDDR4 над версией с GDDR3 будет незначительным. Тем не менее, Diamond Multimedia называет новый продукт лидером в своём классе. Вполне возможно, что в случае с Diamond Radeon HD 2900 XT данное утверждение может оказаться справедливым. Во-первых, графическое ядро работает на частоте 825 МГц, что значительно превышает предсказанное ранее значение. Во-вторых, свою лепту должен внести 1 Гб высокоскоростной памяти GDDR4 с пропускной способности 146 Гб/с. Для сравнения, Radeon HD 2900 XT 512 Мб GDDR3 характеризуется 106 Гб/с.<br /><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1181669608_50987.jpg" align="left" style="border: none;" alt='Radeon HD2900XT c GDDR4 - 14 июня, HD2600/2400 - на подходе' /><br />Источники добавляют, что Diamond Radeon HD 2900 XT с памятью GDDR4 появится в составе готовых производительных систем от следующих компаний: Biohazard Computer Systems, Extreme PC, Falcon North West, Maingear, Memory Express, NCIX, Smooth Creations, Velocity Micro, Vigor, XI, ABS, Cyberpowerpc, Polywell, Ibuypower, Canada Computers.<br /><br />Ещё одна обнадёживающая новость касается долгожданных массовых продуктов Radeon HD 2600/2400, формально объявленных 14 мая вместе с флагманом Radeon HD 2900 XT 512 Мб GDDR3. Сообщается, что AMD начала поставки производителям первых партий графических чипов RV630 и RV610. Таким образом, видеокарты из серий Radeon HD 2600/2400 должны дойти до прилавков компьютерных магазинов уже через пару недель.
