Однако, по прогнозам аналитиков из компании iSupply, массовым явлением на рынке OLED-телевизоры в обозримом будущем всё же не станут.<br /><br />Так, в 2007 году iSupply ожидает продажи порядка 8 тысяч устройств, что в денежном выражении составит примерно 1 миллион долларов, а к 2012 году эта цифра будет уже составлять $696,06 миллионов, или 1,16 миллионов штук. Таким образом, среднегодовые темпы роста продаж телевизионных OLED-устройств превысят 170%, но даже такого уровня будет недостаточно, чтобы к 2012 году доля телевизоров на органических светодиодах составила хотя бы 0,5% от общего рынка телевизоров.<br /><br />Одна из причин такого положения дел – определённые технические трудности, с которыми производители сталкиваются при выпуске OLED-дисплеев больших диагоналей. В связи с этим в настоящее время основное применение светодиодные экраны находят в различных портативных устройствах, где они обладают рядом существенных преимуществ, таких как низкое энергопотребление, высокие яркость и контрастность, отсутствие потребности в дополниельной подсветке.
