Как известно, Sony уже решила уйти с рынка плазменных панелей, похоже, LG  будет четвертой компанией, в списке основных игроков этого рынка, которая решила сосредоточить свои инвестиции на производство LCD-HDTV, вслед за Philips и Hitachi.  <br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1179991505_52007lg_plasma.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='LG закрывает старейшую фабрику по производству «плазмы»' /></div><br />Южнокорейская компания решила закрыть старейшую фабрику по производству плазменных панелей А1, расположенную в Гумми (Южная Корея). Причина закрытия, попытка «увеличить эффективность производства и снизить стоимость панелей», по заявлению представителей компании, объем производства уменьшится с 430 000 до 360 000 панелей в год, что позволит сохранить «от 22 до 32 миллионов долларов в год». В настоящее время, LG занимает второе место по количеству производимых панелей, остается только гадать, учитывая последние тенденции к снижению цен на HDTV-устройства, к чему приведет смена приоритетов компании.
