Компания Fujitsu представила первый в мире H.264 чип способный в реальном времени производить преобразования (упаковку\распаковку) видео с разрешением 1920 x 1080 (60i/50i).

Микросхема несет на своем борту 256 Мбайт памяти формата FCRAM и обладает очень низким энерговыделением - 750mW в режиме сжатия видео. Это позволяет обеспечивать быструю и качественную MPEG-2 обработку сигнала используя вдвое или втрое меньшие размеры корпуса. Чип MB86H51 по цене ¥30,000 ($247) будет доступен для ОЕМ закупок с 1 июля, после этого его можно будет встретить в новейших видеорекордерах.
