Материнская плата, процессор и графический чип обходятся Microsoft и Sony, соответственно, в $204 и $352. Оптический Blu-ray накопитель PS3 стоит $125, в то время, как обычный DVD-привод Xbox 360 обходится Microsoft всего в $19,45. Блок питания и винчестер в PS3 стоят каждый на $10 больше, по сравнению с аналогичными компонентами Xbox 360. Ценовая разница между Xbox 360 и PS3 увеличивается еще на $20 за счет модуля беспроводной передачи данных 802.11b/g Wi-Fi в последней.<br /><br />Кроме того, было подсчитано, что в PS3 используются различные компоненты на $150, которые не нужны Xbox 360.
