Производство высокотехнологичной техники никогда не стоило так дорого как сейчас, многие производители снижают цену на свои устройства в ущерб прибыльности, рассчитывая наверстать упущенное со временем. Похоже, вскоре такие прибыльные времена наступят для подразделений связанных с Xbox, корпорации Microsoft. На данном этапе продажа приставок не приносит прибыли корпорации, но их бизнес стратегия направлена на прибыльность Xbox в 2008 году – заявил в своем интервью он-лайн изданию eWeek Робби Бах (Robbie Bach) президент развлекательного подразделения Microsoft. Достаточно сдержанное заявление, учитывая что убытки Microsoft от «приставок, не приносящих прибыли», по мнению некоторых аналитиков, уже составляют около 4 миллиардов долларов.
