На днях Microsoft открывает европейский филиал игрового подразделения Microsoft Game Studios. Новое представительство, размещенное в городе Reading (Великобритания), будет заниматься продвижением MGS в Европе и налаживать тесные взаимоотношения с европейскими разработчиками игр.
Европейское представительство будет запущено генеральным директором MGS Филом Спенсером (Phil Spencer), при непосредственном участии вице-президента Microsoft Game Studios Шэйна Кима (Shane Kim). Помогать им будут руководитель производственного отдела Шэнон Лофтис (Shannon Loftis) и коммерческий руководитель Тодд Стивенс (Todd Stevens).

Microsoft Game Studios открывает представительство в Европе. Вообще, в европейской игровой индустрии Microsoft далеко не новый участник, у MGS уже есть устойчивые отношения с известными европейскими разработчиками игр такими, как Real Time Worlds, Remedy Entertainment и Bizarre Creations. Bizarre разрабатывала для MGS серию игр Project Gotham, Real Time Worlds отметилась с довольно успешным проектом Crackdown для XBOX 360, а финская студия Remedy Entertainment (создатель нашумевшего Max Payne) вскоре выпускает потенциальный хит, «психологический экшн-триллер» Alan Wake.

В Microsoft уверены, что создание европейского представительства это важный шаг к усилению позиций на рынке компьютерных и видео-игр. «Европа действительно очень важна для нашего развития и является площадкой для взаимодействия с талантливейшими представителями игровой индустрии» заявил Спенсер в последнем пресс-релизе «Я очень рад укреплению наших позиций в Европе, и уверен в том, что мы продолжим и усилим наш натиск с помощью укрепления связей с местным сообществом разработчиков игр».
