Sony переходит на 50 Гб Blu-ray диски.В своем интервью изданию Video Business президент Sony Дэвид Бишоп (David Bishop) заявил о переводе 80% грядущих Blu-ray-изданий на двухслойные диски емкостью 50 Гб (BD-50). По его словам: «Это очень важная веха, особенно сейчас, когда мы видим, что наш формат обеспечивает наилучшее качество звука и изображения, а переход на 50 Гб диски окончательно укрепит наше превосходство»

Несмотря на то, что не все фабрики выпускающие диски справляются и с нынешним объемом, Бишоп совершенно уверен, что с задачей по переходу на BD-50 «штамповщики» справятся. Хорошая новость - помимо улучшенного качества контента, увеличенный объем должен положительно сказаться на наличии любимых нами дополнительных материалов.

Из других новостей, связанных с успехами Sony на поприще продаж высококачественного кино, можно отметить 100 000-ю проданную копию фильма «Казино Рояль» на Blu-ray. А вот поклонники «Кода Да Винчи» должны набраться терпения, выход долгожданного псевдоисторического триллера на Blu-ray планируется только на начало 2008 г.
