Компания Mempile, одна из компаний-пионеров на рынке оптических накопителей следующего поколения, анонсировала новую технологию TeraDisc. Как понятно из названия, она позволяет накопителю вмещать до 1 Терабайта информации. Во время демонстрации производились операции записи и чтения более чем на 100 виртуальных слоев единственного диска с размерами стандартного DVD-носителя.<br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1175336078_124222.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='1 Терабайт на диске размером с DVD от Mempile' /></div><br /><br />Приглашенные на демонстрацию специалисты, как сообщается, были поражены возможностью записи как минимум 500 Гбайт информации на простой пластиковый прозрачный диск. Заметим, это на 300 Гбайт больше, чем позволяет технология с использованием синего лазера, притом, что массовое внедрение Blu-rau дисков подобного объема планируется не раньше 2010 года.<br /><br />Как отмечают специалисты компании, с победным шествием цифровых форматов проблема хранения данных становится все более актуальной для пользователей. Даже домашние архивы музыки и фотографий достигают гигантских размеров.<br />«Технология Mempile TeraDisc позволит потребителям, в первую очередь, длительно хранить терабайт данных на единственном, легко перемещаемом носителе размером с DVD-диск, при цене, сопоставимой с альтернативными решениями на рынке», - заявил глава компании Mempile Ави Хупперт (Avi Huppert).<br /><br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1175336128_124221.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='1 Терабайт на диске размером с DVD от Mempile' /></div><br /><br />В отличие от существующих оптических накопителей, запатентованная компанией нелинейная двухфотонная технология позволяет проводить 3D запись на виртуальные слои по всему объему прозрачного диска. В настоящее время апробирована технология записи 300 Гбайт на диск с толщиной активного материала 0,6 мм. Как уверяют представители компании, при увеличении толщины носителя до 1,2 мм объем записываемой информации увеличится по меньшей мере до 500 Гбайт. В будущем компания оптимизирует технологию, что даст возможность записывать до 200 слоев с объемом в 5 Гбайт на каждый.  <br /><br />С учетом продолжительности хранения в течение 50 лет, появление дисков такого объема действительно может иметь очень неплохие перспективы. Остается подождать, пока Mempile закончит переговоры с партнерами в лице французской Arkema и японской Memory Tech о массовом производстве дисков нового поколения.
