Подробности прошивки 1.6 для PS3 Компания Sony поделилась подробностями относительно очередного системного обновления 1.6 для PlayStation 3, которое будет доступно накануне старта консоли в Европе, то есть, 22 марта. Главным достоинством новой прошивки должно стать добавление фоновой закачки, за отсутствие которой PS3 частенько подвергалась критике. Впрочем, в Sony отмечают, что эта функция может иметь некоторые ограничения, о которых станет известно в день релиза. Владельцы PSP, использующие хендхелд в качестве удаленного медиаплеера для PS3, получат возможность устанавливать связь между двумя устройствами посредством беспроводного соединения. Более того, владельцы PlayStation 3 с жесткими диском на 20 Гбайт также смогут воспользоваться этой функцией. В числе прочих усовершенствований пока числятся появление полноразмерной экранной клавиатуры и улучшение работы браузера. Также появится поддержка проекта Folding@Home. Не исключено, что это еще не все новшества, которые придут вместе с новым системным обновлением, но если Sony и решит добавить что-то еще, геймеры узнают об этом только в день релиза.
