Начиная с четверга, на страницах прессы Великобритании стали появляться известия о том, что вскоре абсолютно все телеканалы страны будут переведены на цифровой режим передачи каналов телевещания, предположительно с 17 октября этого года. Более того, представители организации Digital UK отметили тот факт, что аналоговый сигнал телеканала BBC2 будет вовсе отключен ближе к середине ноября. Специалисты планируют медленно, дом за домом, город за городом переоборудовать под современные медиа-возможности, серьезно востребованные прогрессивным населением. Известно, что этот процесс завершится аж через 5 лет, в 2012 году.

Для того, чтобы получить доступ к цифровым ТВ-каналам, телевизор каждого абонента должен быть подсоединен или к спутниковой тарелке, или к кабельным широкополосным информационным каналам. Но эти формальности не пугают современных британцев, которые уже сегодня готовы подписаться на "возможности будущего".

Не секрет, что Германия также начала проектирование перехода на цифровые каналы телевещания, в то же время, как такие развитые страны как США и Япония развернут подобные кампании только через год-два. Британцам же вскоре будут доступны 5 «цифровых» телеканалов - BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 и Five.
