Всего несколько часов до начала конференции Game Developers Conference (GDC 2007) в Сан-Франциско - нам как всегда обещают много интересного. Директор GDC 2007 Джамил Моледина (Jamil Moledina) в своем интервью журналу GameDaily Biz пообещал немало сюрпризов во время мероприятия. Крупнейший игровой форум предоставил разработчикам и производителям платформ два этажа выставочных помещений с четырьмя сотнями стендов по 16 основным игровым направлениям. Конференция порадует участников и гостей громким анонсами игр, техническими подробностями и тенденциями в индустрии, выступлениями видных представителей игрового мира, самым заметным из которых станет доклад легендарного Художника из Nintendo Сигеру Миямото (Shigeru Miyamoto – создатель «Марио»).

В ходе GDC2007 обещают много важных заявлений из стана руководства Sony. Кроме того, Моледина «проговорился» о том, что поклонники Sony и владельцы приставки PlayStation 3 «сильно обрадуются» в ближайшее время. На попытки журналистов выведать подробности, глава конференции предложил дождаться выступления Фила Харрисона (Phil Harrison - президент Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios), который и должен «осчастливить» поклонников японской приставки.

Что ж, подождем доклада президента Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, а для затравки можем поделиться «уловом» репортера из Newsweek. В 4-й части большого интервью этому уважаемому изданию вышеназванный Фил Харрисон «выдал» информацию о новой возможности приставки PS3. Речь идет о давно ожидаемой поддержке «апскэйлинга» (upscaling) фильмов в DVD-формате до HD-разрешения. Т.е. одна из будущих прошивок наконец-то добавит PS3 «улучшайзер» для качественного преобразования контента с DVD-дисков до заветных 1080 пикселей. Как подчеркнул Харрисон, пока не известно – когда появиться прошивка с указанной возможностью, но намекнул, что в ближайшее время обладателей PS3 ожидает еще несколько «вкусностей» - расширяющих возможности их приставок.
