Представители компании Electronic Arts, которая владеет наибольшей долей рынка игр для PS3 (32%), объявили, что EA разочарована продажами в рождественский период. До 31 января 2006 года компания продала 900 тысяч игр для PS3 на общую сумму 41 миллион долларов, в то время как на старте Xbox 360 за аналогичный период было продано 1.7 миллиона игр на сумму $76 миллионов. В EA обращают внимание, что количество проданных экземпляров игр на одну консоль у PS3 было намного меньшим, чем у Xbox 360 в начале продаж. В то же время, с начала 2007 года показатели PS3 начали быстро улучшаться.
