По просочившимся в сетевые СМИ сведениям, обе компании надеются добиться заказов на производство дисков этих форматов от студий Голливуда во второй половине этого года. <br /><br />Одна только Universal Studios Home Entertainment с апреля 2006 года выпустила более 60 кинофильмов на дисках HD DVD и планирует в текущем году увеличить их количество ещё на сотню, обеспечивая тем самым формату лишнюю популярность. В то же время, по статистике Amazon.com, к середине февраля 2007 года по количеству изданных фильмов лидирует формат BD, имеющий в своем активе 238 кинолент, тогда как HD DVD может похвастаться только 219 фильмами. <br /><br />По оценке HD DVD Group, возглавляемой корпорацией Toshiba и созданной для продвижения формата, на одном только североамериканском рынке в этом году продажи воспроизводящих и записывающих устройств этого класса вырастут с 600 тысяч штук до двух миллионов. <br /><br />В подобной ситуации вполне понятно, что голливудские студии будут планомерно увеличивать число заказов на тиражирование дисков с фильмами обоих форматов. По сообщению ряда источников, наибольшие шансы получить эти заказы уже во второй половине года имеются именно у тайваньских производителей. Во всяком случае, они твёрдо рассчитывают на заказ дисков с маркировкой Region 3, т.е. предназначенных для реализации на территории Юго-Восточной Азии и Тайваня.
