Что это даёт геймерам? По меньшей мере – экономию в несколько десятков долларов. Арифметика такова: специальный 20-гигабайтный HDD, предлагаемый компанией Microsoft в качестве дополнения к консоли, стоит ни много ни мало $100, в то время как жёсткий диск WD ёмкостью 40 Гбайт можно приобрести за вдвое меньшие деньги. Впрочем, пока что эта экономия омрачается одним-единственным недостатком: при использовании утилиты полезная ёмкость «левого» винчестера будет ограничена 20 гигабайтами, оставшуюся половину пространства консоль попросту не увидит. <br /><br />Работает программа на удивление просто: всего лишь модифицирует прошивку диска таким образом, чтобы приставка при проверке подключённых девайсов восприняла его как фирменный 20-гигабайтный HDD. При желании, как сообщает автор утилиты, пользователь может в любой момент вернуть жёсткий диск в своё номинальное состояние. <br /><br />Хороший повод для Microsoft задуматься над стоимостью аксессуаров.
