Компания Sony обновила программное обеспечение игровой консоли PlayStation 3 до версии 1.5. Основным нововведением сдало добавление возможности использования пластиковых карт для оплаты различных сетевых сервисов и, в частности, покупку игр и дополнительных уровней через Интернет-магазин PlayStation Store.<br /><br />К более значимым изменениям можно отнести улучшенное отображение игр, разработанных для PlayStation 1 и 2. В частности, новая версия прошивки позволяет значительно повысить качество изображения старых игр, убрать многочисленные артефакты и искажения, и сделать их пригодными для отображения на дисплеях формата HDTV.<br /><br />Новая прошивка доступна для установки уже сейчас.
