В своем интервью интернет-ресурсу Joystiq, президент Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), Джек Треттон (Jack Tretton) дал понять, что удешевление приставки произойдет еще весьма нескоро.<br />Если быть более точным, топ-менеджер сходу назвал нереальной возможность удешевления PS3 по схеме, когда-то продемонстрированной на примере PS2. Последняя, я напомню, подешевела на треть примерно через полтора года после своего появления. Таким образом, сейчас можно говорить лишь о том, что, по меньшей мере, до конца 2007 года Playstation 3 точно не подешевеет на треть. :)<br />Аргументируя свой ответ, Треттон ссылался на баснословные затраты при разработке Playstation 3. Именно необходимость их возврата и отодвигает дату возможного снижения цен. При этом руководитель SCEA вовсе не считает сумму в $599 необоснованно большой для обычной игровой приставке. По его мнению, покупатели готовы платить даже больше, если судить по их активности на аукционе eBay.<br />Впрочем, учитывая тот факт, что господин Треттон никому никаких расписок не давал, я думаю, в случае критического неприятия Playstation 3 рынком, Sony просто вынуждена будет пойти на скорое снижения цен. Благо, конкуренты в лице Xbox 360 и уже снискавшей себе популярности Nintendo Wii не дремлют.
