Web-сайт AppleInsider получил из своих источников подтверждение информации, опубликованной несколько недель назад тайваньским изданием DigiTimes, о том, что в новых моделях высокоуровневых ноутбуков Apple MacBook Pro будет использоваться светодиодная (LED) подсветка жидкокристаллической матрицы дисплея вместо обычных флуоресцентных ламп с холодным катодом (cold cathode fluorescent backlights, CCFL). <br /><br />По словам источников, Apple решила оснащать новым типом подсветки матрицы 15-дюймовых моделей MacBook Pro, и сейчас рассматривает возможность использования этой же технологии для топовой 17-дюймовой модели, а также потребительских 13-дюймовых ноутбуков MacBook. <br /><br />Использование LED-подсветки сулит пользователям немало преимуществ, среди которых увеличенное время автономной работы за счет более низкого энергопотребления светодиодных источников света, более широкий цветовой охват (как известно, LED-подсветка используется в некоторых профессиональных моделях LCD-мониторов), а также более длительное сохранение первоначальных характеристик дисплея.
