В это время ведущие игроки необъятного китайского рынка оптической записи пытаются освободиться от зависимости от признанных во всём мире стандартов. Влиятельные местные компании внедряют альтернативные форматы, чтобы отвязаться от необходимости уплаты лицензионных отчислений японским и европейским компаниям. Понятно, что все эти меры направлены, в первую очередь, на удешевление оптических носителей и аппаратуры для воспроизведения и записи. В частности, стремление китайских компаний к форматной независимости привело к появлению EVD (enhanced versatile disc), конкурирующего с DVD и расчитывающего на сильные позиции в развивающихся странах. Вместе с тем, ведётся работа по адаптации HD DVD к китайским реалиям.<br /><br />Прошедшая на прошлой неделе международная выставка потребительской электроники CES 2007 открыла глаза на ещё один альтернативный оптической формат под названием HD-FVD (High Definition-Forward Versatile Disc). Так же, как и EVD, он является следующим шагом в эволюции стандарта DVD. На благо себестоимости оптических приводов разработчиками из Китая и Тайваня было заранее оговорено применение красных лазерных светодиодов, более дешёвых и распространённых, чем синие. Следовательно, справедливо предположить, что формат HD-FVD не предусматривает серьёзного скачка в ёмкости носителей. Очевидцами презентации стандарта HD-FVD на CES 2007 сообщается, что однослойный диск HD-FVD способен вместить 5,4 Гб данных, на двухслойный можно записать от 9,8 до 11 Гб. Что интересно, формат предусматривает трёхслойные диски ёмкостью до 15 Гб.<br /><br />На шоу в Лас-Вегасе были представлены первые проигрыватели и диски формата HD-EFD. В настоящее время производством дисков занимается компания Ritek. Первым, кто осмелился выпустить проигрыватели HD-FVD, стала компания EDL. Посетители выставки отмечают, что аппаратура формата HD-FVD обеспечивает качество изображения чуть лучше уровня Blu-ray и сравнимое с HD DVD.<br /><br />На нескольких скупых фразах о спецификациях нового формата и субъективных впечатлениях о качестве картинки дебютный рассказ о HD-FVD, к сожалению, заканчивается. Ждём новой информации о перспективах HD-FVD за пределами Китая и Тайваня и о ценах на проигрыватели и диски.
