xvYCC. Согласитесь, не особо понятная аббревиатура для обывателя. Вот и у Sony схожее мнение. Поэтому было решено придумать более звучное название для этого стандарта расширенного спектра цветов, поддерживаемого устройствами с интерфейсом HDMI 1.3

Теперь официально он называется x.v.Color или x.v.Colour. Mitsubishi и Sony продвигают в комитет по стандартизации цветов (Color Standardization committee) в составе Japan Electronics и Ассоциации индустрии информационных технологий (Information Technology Industries Association) новые ЖК, которые выходят за пределы устаревшей градации цветов sRGB CRT-дисплеев. Уже совсем скоро появятся устройства, поддерживающие новый стандарт – их можно будет узнать по соответствующему логотипу-стикеру на лицевой панели.
