Будут ли некоторые любители теле- и кинопросмотров в формате HD в следующем году пользоваться скоростным широкополосным доступом в Интернет для загрузки своих любимых HD-программ и кинофильмов, отказавшись при этом от платного ТВ-сервиса?

Будут, и с большим удовольствием. Такой прогноз делает на 2007 год исследовательская компания In-Stat в своем, выпущенном недавно, отчете. В новом издании "Прогнозы In-Stat на 2007 год" (In-Stat Predictions 2007) предполагается, что к концу следующего года отдельные пользователи задействуют соединение со скоростью 30Mб/с Интернетa со своими ISP, чтобы загружать HD-программы, и не пользоваться при этом услугами платного ТВ.

Причины данного выбора следующие:

- качество изображения лучше, чем у многих, предлагающих свои услуги, цифровых кабельных компаний;

- способ отказаться от собранных и предлагаемых сетями в сервисных пакетах нежелательных и несмотрибельных программ;

- беспроводное HDMI-соединение между персональным компьютером (PC) и широкоэкранным HD-телевизором широко распространится к концу следующего года;

- наличие четырехъядерных CPU на базе Intel;

- новые компьютеры на базе Intel от Apple.

Исследующая особенности современного телекоммуникационного рынка, компания In-Stat также предполагает, что одной из первых и главных причин продвижения данного направления будет выход HD-версий некоторых кинофильмов кинокомпании Disney, загрузить которые можно будет в следующем году через Интернет-сервис iTunes.

Также In-Stat прогнозирует, что загрузка HD-программ через Интернет будет на начальном этапе осуществляться в основном пользователями наиболее продвинутых компьютеров.
