Ни для кого не секрет, что в Японии дела у Microsoft идут не самым лучшим образом. Запуск первой Xbox на японском рынке на каждом углу обзывался провальным, то же самое год назад пророчили и Xbox 360. Однако представители Microsoft обещали учесть допущенные ошибки и сделать все возможное для избежания аналогичной неудачи. С момента официального старта первой next-gen консоли в Японии прошёл почти год, и за это время компании удалось реализовать всего 180 тысяч коробок с приставкой.<br /><br />Что касается PS3, то за первый месяц она обошла годовой показатель Xbox 360 на 10 тысяч проданных экземпляров. Всего за один месяц! Однако им обоим далеко до успехов Wii, продажи которой только за первую неделю пребывания в рознице достигла отметки в 400 тысяч штук.<br /><br />Что касается успехов на других континентах, то для PS3 и Wii они активно подсчитываются, а Microsoft уже имеет результат в 10 миллионов приставок, проданных за 2006 календарный год. Что касается планов на будущее, то Nintendo намеревается продать более 6 млн. консолей до марта 2007, Sony пока молчит и не называет конкретных цифр, а Microsoft возлагает особые надежды на игры «Gears Of War», которая является лучшим катализатором продаж Xbox 360 в США и Европе, и на RPG «Blue Dragon», которая призвана улучшить ситуацию в Японии. Так или иначе, наиболее гладким был старт у Nintendo. Компания не торопилась, а посему успела заготовить нужное для удовлетворения первоначального спроса число приставок. Более конкретные выводы можно будет сделать после годовых отчётов next-gen тройки.
