Японская компания Sony начала поставки плеера BDP-S1. Модель способна проигрывать Blu-ray диски, обычные DVD (DVD+R/+RW), а также MP3. Устройство выдаёт изображение в разрешении 1920 x 1080 пикселей, чего должно хватить даже самым яростным поклонникам HD. Плеер поддерживает большое количество современных высококачественных кодеков, включая MPEG2, MPEG4-AVC и VC1. Потребители, которые ещё не успели приобрести HD-телевизор, смогут подключить аппарат через аналоговый выход.
