Недавно компания Microsoft утешила обладателей игровой консоли Xbox 360 выпуском внешнего проигрывателя HD DVD. Теперь, не дожидаясь обновленной версии приставки со встроенным приводом HD DVD и не предавая лагерь Xbox приобретением Sony PlayStation 3, можно испытать на себе всю прелесть нового формата оптических накопителей повышенной емкости.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/hdtvimg/072_002.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='HD DVD для Xbox 360: посмотрим, что у него внутри' title='HD DVD для Xbox 360: посмотрим, что у него внутри' /></div><br />По причине новизны подобных устройств сотрудников сайта DailyTech одолело законное мужское желание изучить их внутреннюю начинку. Вооружившись отверткой и рискуя привести в негодность дорогостоящий привод, было решено посмотреть, что же там внутри. Вдобавок ко всему, в жертву любопытству и пытливости ума была принесена фирменная гарантия. <br /><br />Первое, что встречает под крышкой - стандартный привод HD DVD-ROM, предназначенный для ноутбуков. Судя по наклейке, производителем является компания Toshiba, которая возглавляет консорциум HD DVD. Привод имеет интерфейс mini IDE. Вместо полноразмерного IDE-кабеля, как это часто бывает в случае стационарных бытовых DVD-проигрывателей на базе компьютерных DVD-ROM, используется компактный кабель mini IDE. На корпусе привода закреплена печатная плата с интерфейсной электроникой. <br /><br />На электронной плате распаян контроллер NEC D720133GB, ответственный за обмен данными между каналами USB и IDE. За дополнительные два разъема USB 2.0 отвечает хаб NEC PD720114. На PCB также расположена микросхема NAND-памяти емкостью 256 Мб, которая обслуживается контроллером от компании Lexar. Флэш-микросхема Samsung K9F2G08U0M в операционной системе консоли обозначена как "Xbox 360 HD DVD Memory Unit". Данная память несет ответственность за хранение программного обеспечения привода HD DVD. Информационное меню Xbox 360 дает понять, что из 256 Мб свободно 192 Мб, но для пользователя это пространство недоступно. <br /><br />К сожалению, "очумелые" руки сервисных инженеров-самозванцев не добрались до внутренностей HD DVD-ROM и не осмелились обнажить лазер и различные механизмы привода, как это произошло c устройством для чтения дисков Blu-ray новой приставки Sony PlayStation 3.
