NVIDIA начала обширную рекламную кампанию по продвижению GeForce 7900 GS и 7950 GT на массовый рынок. При помощи новичков в стане G71 компания собирается "положить на лопатки" канадского видеогиганта с его Radeon X1900 Pro и X1650 XT, которым на стратегической конкурентной карте противопоставляются новые карты NVIDIA.<br />Начало обширных поставок GeForce 7950 GT намечено на 14 сентября, говорится в документации, которая попала в руки наших пытливых коллег с китайского ресурса it.com.cn. Примечательно, что на это же число назначены и первые поставки Radeon X1950 XTX и X1950 CrossFire след за официальным релизом 23 августа сего года. Продолжая тему дат, нужно отметить, что GeForce 7900 GS официально увидит свет 30 августа, в этот же день планируется начать наполнять прилавки. <br />Напомним, что частота ядра GeForce 7900 GS будет составлять 450 МГц, а памяти – 600 МГц, причём карты будут комплектоваться 256 МВ 256-битной памяти, тип которой пока неизвестен. Референсные карты будут поддерживать двухканальный DVI интерфейс и HDTV выход, тогда как интерфейс HDCP будет доступен как опция. GeForce 7950 GT комплектуется 512 MB видеопамяти на частоте 700 МГц, а частота ядра составляет 550 МГц. В данном случае HDCP в дополнение к Dual Link DVI и HDTV является стандартом. Примерная стоимость карточек составит около $200 и $300 соответственно.
